Claws

Early Chinese dragons were drawn with three claws on each paw. During the Song Dynasty (960–1279 CE) the number of claws increased to four.

Five-clawed dragons became the symbol of the emperor during the Yuan Dynasty and it was forbidden for anyone else to use them as decoration.
