In Perth

News | Posted by Carole on Thursday 12 March 2009

I had a good time at the Perth Writers Festival. Lots of people came to my sessions, which was great.

One session was with Leigh Hobbs who writes the Old Tom books (among other things). It was interesting for me to hear how he writes his books and illustrates them.

I’ll be back in Perth again in a couple of weeks for the All Saints Literature Festival.

Here is a photo of Leigh and I at the Festival.

    Sarah,
Sometimes it’s fun. Sometimes it’s not. It was fun the day the photo was taken.

Hi Carole! I cannot wait for Dragon Dawn to come out in the UK. Do you know what the cover is going to look like? It hasn’t been revealed yet and I am dying to see it!

    Best wishes,

    Ryan

    Ryan,
I have seen the cover of the UK Dragon Dawn, or at least an early version of it. It is very striking.

    Hello Carole,
I’m a girl (11y) from Holland and soon I will do a book review about Dragonkeeper (Drakenhoeder). (Of course my dad has translated my message into English). I’m only allowed to do a review if I can show enough information about the writer. I’ve read the information on your site and I like to know your age or birthday. Is it possible you give me that information? Greetings, Myananda (Apeldoorn).

  11. Carole says:

    Rosaria,
I did spend a lot of time looking through books and websites to find where daffodils originally grew.

  12. Carole says:

    Myananda,
it is great to hear from someone in Holland. I am 58. I cannot put my birth date on this website. I have had trouble lately with people trying to steal my identity (I hope your Dad can translate that!). So I have taken all personal information off my website. Sorry.

Hi Carole! I love your Dragon Keeper series! I like all the descriptions you put into your stories! My favorite character is Kai. I was just wondering how many Dragon Keeper books there will be.

    Caylee

P.S Could you visit me and my friend’s website? It is pandabookclub.weebly.com if you could that would be wonderful!

  14. Carole says:

    Caylee,
I’m pleased to hear that you like the Dragonkeeper books. There are four books, the trilogy and a prequel. I don’t have any plans to write anymore at the moment.
I had a look at your website. It looks great.

  15. Myananda says:

    Dear Carole

I live in the Netherlands and about two years ago I wrote a message with my dad to ask your age because I was making a book report about dragonkeeper. I couldn’t find your answere but my book report was good enough. Today I was just surfing at the internet and I saw your answere! I never say thank you about that so now I say Thank you! And sorry, now can I better write and read English, and I think my message was a kind of rude. Sorry about that.

    Best wishes, Myananda

  16. Carole says:

    Myananda,
I’m glad you read it in the end, and I hope you got a good mark for your book report.
I answer my email and blog comments twice a week, so you have to check back!
Your English is very good. I am envious of anyone who can speak another language. I can’t.
