Dragon Moon Cover

News | Posted by Carole on Tuesday 23 January 2007

The Dragon Moon cover has been finalised.
Here it is. I love it. It fits with the other two books but is bold and different as well.

Now all I have to do is finish writing the book! I’m working through the final draft with Ali, my editor, and then it goes to the printer next week.

Posted by Carole on Thursday 1 February 2007

Will,
That’s the cover of the next book on the series on this post. It’s called Dragon Moon and it will be out in April.

Posted by sansthita on Thursday 1 February 2007

can’t wait to get hold of it!! but i am a little dissapointed as it would take quite much time to reach america i just wish i was in austrailia now

Posted by Zachary Moore on Saturday 3 February 2007

carole, i absolutely loved! your book dragon keeper but i was just wondering if you have a copy of garden of the purple dragon in U.S. edition?

Posted by Carole on Saturday 3 February 2007

Sansthita,
Sorry, I’m afraid there’s nothing I can do to change the publisher’s schedule.

Zachary,
Glad you liked the book. Garden of the PD is due for release ‘in Spring’ int the US. That’s all I know. You could email Hyperion, the publishers to get a more exact date.

Posted by Zolloz on Tuesday 6 February 2007

Hi Carole i have recently read your book abot dragon keeper & dragon keeper: Garden of the PD and i must say i love them i have a question when whill dragon moon then be published in swedin (released).

Posted by Carole on Tuesday 6 February 2007

Zolloz,
Thank you. I’m really pleased to hear that you enjoyed the books. Unfortunately I don’t have any idea when Dragon Moon will be out in Sweden, the publishers do not tell me! You should email the Swedish publisher and ask them.

Posted by Ryanne on Wednesday 7 February 2007

Congrats!
can i see the UK version? i live in Hong kong, and they sell the UK version here, and i have the dragonkeeper (1st book) and i want to “have a whole set of the same” books, so can you please tell me when you have the UK version book cover!
Thanks a lot and add oil(one of the sayings in Hong Kong which means keep up your great effort!!)
XD

Posted by Carole on Thursday 8 February 2007

Ryanne,
Thanks. Never heard of that saying before!
The second book in the series, Garden of the Purple Dragon, was published in UK on 2 Feb. So you should get that in Hong Kong in the next couple of months. Dragon Moon (the third and final book) will be at least another year, I would think.

THIS IS SUCH A COOL COVER!!!!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! BRILLIANT WORK 2 WHOEVER DID IT!!!!

Posted by Carole on Sunday 11 February 2007

Jacqueline,
Yes I love it too.

Posted by marv on Monday 12 February 2007

Ive made up plan im going to austrailia to get the third book so i wont have to wait as long for it to come out in the uk.

Posted by Carole on Monday 12 February 2007

Marv
Sounds like an expensive plan. You could buy the Aust version on the internet (don’t tell the British publisher I said that!). Though that would also be expensive as books are much dearer in Aust than in UK and you’d have to pay for postage as well.
I think you’ll just have to wait. There are plenty of great books out there for you to read in the mean time.
Thanks for your enthusiasm.

Posted by Ryan on Thursday 15 February 2007

The artwork looks brilliant. I cannot wait for Dragon Moon to be pulished. I live in the UK so only this month got Garden of the Purple Dragon which is excellent. Do you know when the cover will be released because if I remember rightly, the cover for GOTPD was released quite a while before the book.

Posted by Bronte on Friday 16 February 2007

Omg i cnt wait till the book comes owt. Its gonna b a race to my school liabry wen it comes out… aworsom cover:) keep up the gud work

Posted by Jonas on Saturday 17 February 2007

Hi Carole. When comes Dragon Moon to Germany? And what will be the title? “Drachenmond”? How will be the cover? I read at this time Garden of the purple Dragon (Im Garten des Purpurdrachen) it`s great. Thank you.

Posted by tina on Sunday 18 February 2007

i love your book although i’ve only read dragonkeeper
im planning to buy garden of the purple dragon and dragon moon at the same time once dragon moon comes out in australia

Posted by Josh on Sunday 18 February 2007

Great cover!!! I can’t wait to read it since GOPD had such a cliffhanger ending!

Posted by Carole on Sunday 18 February 2007

Ryan, Bronte, Tina, Josh,
Glad you all like the cover and are looking forward to Dragon Moon. Hope it lives up to your expectations.

Ryan, I think it will be quite a while before the UK cover for Dragon Moon is designed.

Posted by Carole on Sunday 18 February 2007

Jonas,
Hi, great to hear from you. I’m afraid I can’t answer any of your questions. You will have to ask the German publisher (Dressler). I am not involved with designing the German cover. You will probably see it before I do!

Posted by Brandon on Tuesday 20 February 2007

hi there,

iam reading Dragon Keeper right now, and its been the best book i have ever read in awhile. but i was wondering if there is a book after the Dragon Keeper. if there is i WILL be sure to buy it right away and read it as soon as i get it.

PS. Danzi is awesome,

Posted by Carole on Tuesday 20 February 2007

Brandon,
Thanks for the post. There are two more books in the Dragon Keeper series. I’m not sure where you live, but I’m guessing USA. If so the second book Garden of the Purple Dragon should be out there very soon. The third book (see cover on this post above) Dragon Moon, is due to be published in Australia in April, but probably not till next year at the earliest in USA.

Posted by Brandon on Wednesday 21 February 2007

well, im in Canada. pretty close though.

also, as iam typing this, i just finished the chapter where Ping gets captured by those villagers and gets thrown into the lake, then Danzi( he’s awesome ) saves her.

2 more books!!!!? im gonna go out and search for them all day tommorow if i have to.

Posted by Carole on Wednesday 21 February 2007

Brandon,
Hold on there, Brandon. I’m glad you’re so enthusiastic about getting the books but it doesn’t matter how much you search you won’t find Dragon Moon as it isn’t published anywhere in the world yet.
I just had a look at the Hyperion website and Garden of PD isn’t listed yet so I don’t think you’ll find that in Canada just yet. Soon though I hope. Unfortunately there is no email address for enquires, just a phone number.
The website is http://www.hyperionbooksforchildren.com

Posted by Carole on Wednesday 28 February 2007

Jordan,
Sorry about the delay in replying. I’ve been working on a new book.
I don’t have anything to do with the distribution of the books. And I don’t sell the books myself. (I’ve just written a new post about how authors don’t own the books, you might find it interesting.)
Dragon Moon will be distributed to all bookshops on the same day. Different shops take different amounts of time to actually get them on the shelves.
Thanks for your enthusiasm.

Posted by Carole on Wednesday 28 February 2007

Jack S,
Yes I’m very happy with the cover and the layout inside the books. But I can’t take any credit for that, I’m afraid. I just write the words!

Posted by Steph on Saturday 3 March 2007

Hey Carole. Love the cover! I live in Melbourne Australia (Like you) and can’t wait for it! Well done! :)

Posted by Brandon on Monday 5 March 2007

Heya Carole,
the cover is FANTASTIC! very bright and colourful i think everyone would want to pick it up and read it :)

i was wondering maybe you could give us some hints on whats gonna happen in the book

Posted by Sumona Dutta on Thursday 8 March 2007

Carole,
I have recently stumbled upon your Dragonkeeper sequel and think you are an amazing writer because I just counldn’t put the book down. I have read them over and over again so it would be fresh in my mind when I read the Dragon Moon!!! It is a remarkable story and I would like to know when it will be released in Brisbane.

Take care and enjoy life

Sumona

p.s. I love the way Danzi gives Ping and Kai riddles to solve. And I think that is an amazing cover for the Dragon Moon.

Posted by Carole on Friday 9 March 2007

Gara,
Garden of the Purple Dragon is out now in Britain. A date hasn’t been set for Dragon Moon, but I imagine it will be about this time next year. There’s lots of great books out there for you to read in the mean time!

Posted by Carole on Friday 9 March 2007

Leisel,
Ping and Kai follow the map that Danzi left for them. That’s all I’m going to say!

Sumona,
Thanks for your kind words. There will be more puzzles for Ping and Kai to solve in Dragon Moon. The book will be out in Brisbane the same time as the rest of Aust, end of this month. See my post called Publication for Dragon Moon.

Posted by christina on Sunday 11 March 2007

i love the first 2 books and i cant wait 4 the next one. i live australia so its only about a month away. your writing is excellent and sooooo cool so im gonna do Garden of the PD for a book report.

also i was just wondering how is ping in Dragon Moon and will they ever make movies of your books coz that would be really really really really really really really really cool!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by christina on Sunday 11 March 2007

P.S. in my last comment i wrote “how is ping” i meant to write how old is Ping

Posted by Carole on Monday 12 March 2007

Christina,
Ping was 11 in Dragonkeeper. In Dragon Moon she’d be 14. Yes a movie would be good. But I have to find the right people to make it first. Someone with millions of dollars.

Posted by j on Sunday 18 March 2007

hey,

what day will dragon moon come out in New Zealand?

cheers,

j

Posted by Carole on Sunday 18 March 2007

j,
I don’t know exactly. I would hope early in April. The staff at your bookshop should be able to tell you.

Posted by Dianne on Sunday 15 April 2007

Carole, just finished Dragonkeeper series. Fantasic. I read because I am a teacher librarian and need to keep ahead of the Kids. These books were a pleasure to read. I am glad you had the nerve to finish Ping’s story but oh so sorry it’s over. Thankyou

Posted by Carole on Monday 16 April 2007

Dianne,
Teacher librarians are my favourite people! You do a terrific job of keeping up with all the books available for kids, I appreciate your hard work. Glad to hear you enjoyed the book.

Posted by Natasha on Thursday 12 July 2007

Hi,
I need some info of Garden of the Purple Dragon. I’ve got an assignment, so would you please tell me? Thank you!
PS
I love the book.

Posted by Carole on Thursday 12 July 2007

Natasha,
You’ll have to be a bit more specific. I don’t know what it is you want to know about.

Posted by Laura on Thursday 8 May 2008

Hi Carole i’m aa 11 yr old girl and I love your books about Dragonkeeper, there just absolutely amazing!!! I just really want to read the third one Dragonmoon but the only thing is that my school libary doesnt have the book oh man:(

Posted by Ashlyn on Sunday 12 October 2008

Hi Carole. I just finished DragonMoon last night! I almost cried at the end. The last chapter was really sad. I really enjoyed the book.

Posted by Carole on Monday 13 October 2008

Laura,
Thanks. I don’t know why your comment has only just come through. Sorry about that.
Your librarian might get the book in if you ask him/her.

Posted by Carole on Monday 13 October 2008

Ashlyn,
Yes it was kind of sad, but I thought it was the best way to end it.
